The Secret Effects of Music

Your life will become a reflection of the type of music you listen to the most.

Imagine yourself walking around your workplace with the lyrics of Kelis's song "I hate you so much right now!" playing in your head phones. You are grooving to it and dancing at your desk really feeling it. You take your headphones off but the song is still repeating in your head and then a co-worker does something that pisses you off. The words to that song will quickly come to mind. If you don't have a high level of self control you may even tell this person how much you hate them out loud. There is a perfectly logical explanation for this.

The Secret is suggestion!

Music is one of the most powerful suggestive tools that exist.

Any marketing professional can tell you how powerful suggestion is. Suggestion directly impacts ones thoughts which in turn impacts how they act. This is why Bank of America spent $1.9 billion on advertising in 2010 according to Business Insider. They also brought in $111.3 billion in revenue that year.

Of course the most effective ad campaigns have music in them. Better yet a smart company pays Drake a few millions to rap about Sprite in one of his songs. Let's talk shortly about the types of suggestion and then we will get back to the powerful role music plays in suggestion.

You Should Go Hear Some Live Music This Weekend

If you are looking to have a great time this weekend, you may want to consider going to listen to some live music. There are many venues where melodies can be heard on a nightly basis. You do not have to go to an opera house or a rock concert to hear great live music. Many local museums feature great bands a few times a month to allow the public to experience new and interesting sounds. You can also find a local bar that may have a couple of bands playing or maybe just one singer and musician entertaining the crowd. If you are interested in going to listen to a performance, there are a few things that you can do to make sure that your experience is as enjoyable as it can possibly be.

The first thing that you need to do is to look at the website of the venue to see when the performances are held. There are times when the venues offer the shows free of charge, but there are other times when tickets must be purchased in order for you to gain admittance into the show. If you need to buy tickets to get in, it is a good idea to buy them in advance. Many times, the tickets cost more if you buy them at the door and you will have to wait in line to buy them and then wait in line again to get admittance. Many venues allow you to purchase the tickets over the Internet and then print them off at your home. It is a quick and easy way to make sure that you are able to get to hear the performance you want to hear.
